The new San Jose Earthquakes Stadium was completed in the spring 2015. The project is located across from the San Jose Airport, site of the historic FMC facility.
The stadium was built to meet MLS standards. The stadium lighting was carefully designed to meet the foot candle and glare requirements for worldwide broadcasting.
One of the challenges for this site was that the remediation pumps for groundwater were required to remain operational throughout and after construction. This required creativity in providing temporary power and new service to the site from the existing PG&E 12KV overhead system.
In addition to the Stadium, the facility will include a 2-story Team Building, Sports Bar, & Recreational Area named the “Epicenter” to be used for other types of events.
