Sanford Fargo Medical Center

Situated on a 109-acre greenfield site in the heart of the growing Fargo/West Fargo area, Sanford Medical Hospital is considered one of the largest hospital projects in the nation and is the largest non-industrial projects in North Dakota to-date. At nearly one million square feet, this 11-story, 384-bed hospital provides children’s and pediatric intensive care, 28 trauma/operating rooms – including the region’s first level one trauma center, orthopedics and neurosurgery, heart surgery, and cardiology.

Scope of Work

The heart of the electrical systems are housed within the central energy plant and consist of three 2.5MW 12.47 kV emergency generators and double-ended 12.47kV medium voltage substations for distribution throughout the medical center. Additional services provided and managed were nurse call, fire alarm, structured cabling, MATV, and synchronized time-lapse clock systems.

ArchKey Technologies portion of work encompassed the installation, termination, and programming of a Lenel access control and video surveillance system consisting of 650 doors and 273 IP cameras. Installation and programming of a Stentofon IP-based intercom system which consisted of 14 emergency phones, 31 door stations, and 15 master stations. The intercom system was also integrated with Lenel. Installation of an AV system consisting of Crestron controls in two rooms, two 60″ and one 48″ display, three video game systems, two 24″ digital signage displays, 12 speakers, an interactive projector, and green screen system.
