Located less than an hour from Lake Tahoe, Gigafactory Nevada is one of the world’s highest volume plants for electric motors, energy storage products, vehicle powertrains and batteries – producing billions of cells per year. This $8M project is one of the largest in the world powered entirely by renewable energy sources. The multi-phase lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility totals 5.8M square feet, housing more than 4.9M square feet of operational space across several floors.
